Animal Cell Structure:
Cell Membrane
The cell membrane is a selective barrier that separates the cells insides from the outside environment, the cell membrane only allows certain things to enter and exit the cell, such as nutrients, oxygen, and waste.

Nucleus
The cell’s nucleus is located in the very middle of the cell, it holds a majority of the cell’s genetic information, DNA is also found in the nucleus, and this controls each function of the cell. Like humans have brains that control everything, the cell has a nucleus that is basically a brain.

Cytoplasm
The cytoplasm, also known as the “cytoskeleton” is responsible for keeping each organelle in the cell in place. A gel like liquid surrounds the organelles, tiny strands of fibers spread throughout the cell acting as bones that humans would have, the liquid is made of salts, ions, and organic molecules.

Ribosomes Ribosomes are the smallest organelle located in the animal cell; they are responsible for protein synthesis. Ribosomes are produced within the cell’s nucleus and can be found in two locations inside of the cell. Some ribosomes are scattered freely, while others are attached to a different organelle called the rough endoplasmic reticulum.
Rough ER
The rough ER is responsible for making and storing proteins as well as making its own phospholipids to add to its membrane, it also is in charge of keeping those proteins separate from the rest of the cell. The rough ER is covered by small…
