Human Resource and Aviation Human Resource is the organizational function that deals with issues related to people such as compensation, hiring, performance management, organization development, safety, wellness, benefits, employee motivation, communication, administration, and training. Workplace hazards have long been a concern of human resource managers. In aviation human resource managers are truly need when it comes to employees. The safety and well-being of the employees are very critical. Human resource managers need to identify those employees who fly frequently on company business or due to a company-initiated relocation, classify them as radiation workers, and ensure compliance with the regulatory requirements for providing risk education and exposure assessment for such workers. Failure to do so may incur potential liability for radiation-related health problems, particularly in the case of pregnant employees where the embryo or fetus is also at risk. Workplace hazards may be physical, chemical, respiratory or biological. To comply with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) requirements, human resource managers have adopted strategies including such methods as the use of protective garments, specialized ventilation systems, modifications to equipment and, as well, the implementation of training programs and technical assistance that enable workers to have maximum protection from these workplace hazards.
An important issue for human resource managers with respect to those employees who are frequent flyers is compliance with applicable laws and regulations; in order to protect the employer from liability should an employee make claims that a health problem is radiation-related.…
